Aize brings Norway’s industrial digital twin to the Gastech floor
On the Norway pavilion in Bangkok, Aize is putting a practical question at the centre of industrial digitalisation: can engineers get from a complex physical asset to the information they need without fighting through disconnected systems?
The answer on the Aize stand is being demonstrated visually. A detailed 3D industrial model is running across the booth screens, turning equipment, pipework and plant geometry into an interface through which engineering and operational information can be explored.
Aize describes its platform as a digital twin and system of insight for heavy industry. Rather than replacing the systems an operator already uses, it connects engineering, maintenance, operational and document data and gives teams a common way to navigate it. Users can move between 2D drawings and 3D models, locate equipment and connect objects to relevant technical information.
That matters because the digital problem inside a large energy asset is often not a shortage of data. It is fragmentation. P&IDs, equipment records, maintenance systems, documents, scans and 3D models may all exist, but not necessarily in a form that lets an engineer move quickly from a physical problem to its engineering context.
From digital twin to physical reality
Aize has been extending that proposition. On 2 September 2026 the Norwegian industrial software company announced the acquisition of French industrial-AI company Samp. Samp’s Shared Reality technology uses reality-capture data such as laser scans to connect what physically exists in a facility with engineering information. Aize says the combination is intended to cover assets across their lifecycle, including older brownfield facilities where documentation can be incomplete or out of date.
The company is also taking the technology beyond demonstrations. Aize announced in 2025 that bp had selected it as a global partner for asset visualisation under a four-year agreement, following deployments in the North Sea, Caspian Sea and West Africa. Aker BP has separately expanded its use of Aize across relevant facilities.
Seen from the Gastech floor, the significance is straightforward. Energy infrastructure is becoming more data-rich while many of the people operating it still need to make decisions about physical equipment. The useful digital twin is therefore not simply the most impressive 3D model. It is the one that shortens the distance between a question and a reliable answer.
That is the story Aize is bringing from Norway to Bangkok: industrial software moving away from digitalisation as a display layer and toward a working interface for the asset itself.
