Jiuli puts the metal behind energy infrastructure in focus at Gastech
The hardware at the Jiuli stand is less conspicuous than AI or LNG megaprojects, but it addresses one of energy engineering’s permanent problems: choosing materials that survive pressure, temperature and corrosive service.
BANGKOK — At Gastech today, Zhejiang Jiuli Hi-Tech Metals is making the case for the materials that sit inside some of the energy industry’s most demanding systems: stainless-steel and special-alloy pipes, fittings, flanges, bars, slabs and wires.
The stand photographed by The Stratawire highlights clad pipe, piping prefabrication and corrosion-resistant alloy products, including materials intended for high-pressure, high-temperature and carbon-dioxide environments. It is a useful reminder that energy infrastructure performance often depends on metallurgy long before a plant reaches the control room.
Where material selection becomes an engineering decision
Jiuli says it develops and manufactures industrial stainless-steel and special-alloy pipes, bars, wires, bimetal composite pipes and fittings. Founded in 1987 in Huzhou, Zhejiang, the listed company supplies products into oil and gas, chemicals, power, nuclear, shipbuilding, marine engineering and new-energy applications.
For oil and gas operators, the practical issue is corrosion and mechanical integrity. Duplex stainless steels, nickel-based corrosion-resistant alloys and clad or composite pipe can be selected where conventional carbon steel would face aggressive fluids or environments. Jiuli's research facilities say they can simulate high-temperature, high-pressure and high-corrosion service conditions.
Clad pipe and prefabrication
The Gastech display puts clad pipe prominently in view. Composite construction can combine the structural properties of a base pipe with a corrosion-resistant internal layer, allowing engineers to target performance at the surface exposed to the process fluid rather than constructing the entire wall from a more expensive alloy.
Jiuli also has a composite-metals subsidiary producing mechanical and metallurgical composite pipe, while its pipe-fittings operation manufactures products for oil and gas production, transportation and refining as well as LNG and marine engineering. The company describes material selection, welder training and prefabrication as part of that wider service.
A global materials business from Zhejiang
Jiuli says its products are sold in more than 70 countries and regions and maintains offices in China, Europe and the Middle East. At an event dominated by questions about future gas supply, LNG capacity and digitalisation, its Bangkok stand represents the physical layer underneath those systems: the pipework and alloys expected to remain reliable when operating conditions become difficult.
