Gastech is full of multinational operators, technology manufacturers and major engineering contractors, but another layer of the energy economy operates between them: the advisers and local partners who help companies navigate markets, relationships and projects across borders.

The Stratawire met Luca Vianelli, Partner and Managing Director of MDA Consulting SEA Co., Ltd., a Bangkok-based consultancy with long-standing links between Thailand and European business.

Local presence matters

Public business records place MDA Consulting SEA in Bangkok and identify Vianelli as its managing director. The company also appears as the Thailand branch-office presence for Italian consultancy CIMBRA Consultants, whose own contact information identifies Vianelli as its local contact.

That kind of network is easy to overlook at a major exhibition. Yet companies entering Southeast Asia often need more than technology and capital. They need people who understand local commercial practice, counterparties and the practical route from an international proposition to a project that can actually be executed.

The connective tissue of an international industry

Gastech demonstrates how international the energy supply chain has become. Equipment may be engineered in Europe, financed elsewhere, installed in Asia and supported by teams spanning several jurisdictions. Consultants and regional partners often become the connective tissue between those pieces.
